Jaisalmer-Rajasthan: Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh called for an apology from leaders within the Congress and the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA) bloc for their alleged disrespect towards Sanatan Dharma. Speaking in Jaisalmer while launching the BJP's 'Parivartan Sankalp Yatra,' Rajnath Singh criticized the DMK leader Udhayanidhi Stalin's recent remarks concerning Sanatan Dharma. He urged the leaders of Congress and INDIA to address this issue.

Rajnath Singh expressed concern about the DMK's perceived disrespect towards Sanatan Dharma, with Udhayanidhi Stalin's statement advocating for its eradication causing significant controversy. He questioned the silence of prominent figures like Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and Sonia Gandhi within the Congress-INDIA coalition, demanding an apology from both parties for the remarks made by DMK.

In addition to addressing the religious controversy, Rajnath Singh highlighted the deteriorating law and order situation in Rajasthan, particularly concerning crimes against women. He emphasized the need for immediate action and stated that the state's development prospects are hindered by these security challenges.

Rajnath Singh also conveyed that the 'Parivartan Sankalp Yatra' would carry the message of a New India throughout the entire region of Rajasthan. He noted that international investment firms and survey agencies have been increasingly optimistic about India's prospects, citing a recent survey where citizens of 23 countries expressed hope for India's future.

Furthermore, Rajnath Singh lauded the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Central Government for their achievements over the past nine years, which have garnered positive attention from both Indian citizens and the international community.

Rajasthan is one of the five states scheduled for assembly elections later in the year, alongside Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Telangana, and Mizoram. In the 2018 elections, the Congress secured 99 seats, while the BJP won 73 seats in the 200-member house. The Congress, under the leadership of Ashok Gehlot, formed the government with the support of independent and BSP members.
