New Delhi: Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced that the railways is actively working to generate more employment opportunities, revealing the completion of the employment process for 1.5 lakh posts. Vaishnaw emphasized the initiation of a new selection process, beginning with assistant Loco Pilots (ALPs), as the first step after concluding the recruitment for 150,000 employees.
Highlighting the annual employment procedure, Vaishnaw explained the railway's revised approach. "There will be more employment opportunities in technical and non-technical popular categories in Group D. Instead of bundling everything together, our objective now is to create more employment. An annual recruitment process has been initiated to provide opportunities to a larger number of people," he stated.
Anil Kumar Khandelwal, General Manager of East Central Railway, shared insights into the new recruitment process. He mentioned the railway's commitment to creating vacancies on a regular basis, reflecting the growth in railway infrastructure and operations each year. The ongoing recruitment for 5,696 ALPs, starting from January 20, signifies the railway's dedication to offering annual opportunities for applicants.
Khandelwal emphasized the positive change in recruitment frequency, stating, "Earlier, the railway used to conduct recruitment once every three or four years. Now, the railway will announce vacancies annually, facilitating a more frequent recruitment process. The initial notification for 5,696 loco pilots was issued on January 20, marking the beginning of increased opportunities for candidates in the railway sector."
