New Delhi: The government on Wednesday took a major decision on the excise duty on non-payment of petrol and diesel. In fact, the Finance Ministry has given relief in excise duty on the export of petrol and diesel as per the June 30 order. Let us tell you all that in the information given by the Finance Ministry, it has been mentioned that after the new order, the excise duty on petrol will be completely abolished and in addition to this, the excise duty on diesel has been reduced from Rs 12 to Rs 10. Let us also tell all of you that earlier the excise duty on petrol was Rs 5 and the excise duty on diesel was Rs 12, which has been reduced by Rs 2 a litre. In fact, the Finance Ministry has also reduced the excise duty on Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF) from Rs 6 to Rs 4. At the same time, excise duty on crude oil has been reduced from Rs 23,250 per kg to Rs 17,000 per kg.
Two months ago, the excise duty was also reduced - on the other hand, the price of petrol-diesel in the domestic market has been going on for two months amidst the ongoing upheaval in the international market.
