NEW DELHI: Former Australia and Queensland fast bowler, Peter Allan, who left an indelible mark in the world of cricket, has passed away at the age of 87.

Making his debut in the opening clash of the 1965-66 Ashes tour at the Gabba, Peter Allan showcased his exceptional skills on the field. In his maiden Test, he made an immediate impact by taking two crucial wickets, including that of England captain Mike Smith.

Following his unfortunate demise, Cricket Australia expressed their condolences to the family and friends of Peter Allan. The organization joined hands with Queensland Cricket to pay tribute to this legendary cricketer. Peter Allan, known for his towering height and right-arm pace, represented his country in the 1965-66 Ashes series, a testament to his remarkable career with Queensland. Over the course of his illustrious career, Peter Allan participated in 57 first-class games, including 52 matches for Queensland. His remarkable ability to take wickets resulted in a tally of 206 dismissals at an average of 26.10. Notably, he accomplished the feat of claiming five wickets in an innings on 12 occasions, in addition to his outstanding 10-wicket haul.
