Mukesh Khanna, famous for his iconic role as 'Shaktimaan', needs no introduction. Born on June 23, 1958, Mukesh Khanna is now 66 years old. Mention his name, and the image of 'Shaktimaan' instantly comes to mind. Recently, Mukesh Khanna opened up about his struggles before being chosen for the role of Bhishma Pitamah in B.R. Chopra's 'Mahabharat'.

Before gaining fame as Bhishma Pitamah in B.R. Chopra's 'Mahabharat', Mukesh Khanna credited this show for a significant turnaround in his acting career. The actor revealed that he was so disheartened by his continuous string of flop films that he avoided facing people.

In an interview with the Times of India, Khanna shared, "Before landing the role in 'Mahabharat', I had done several films that were major flops. People labeled me as a flop actor, and I was very unhappy with how things were going. When I traveled by train, people would recognize me and ask if I was Mukesh Khanna, but I would deny it and say I was his brother. I just didn't want to face people."

Khanna further added, "After 'Mahabharat', my life took a new turn, and I am glad I played the role of Bhishma Pitamah and received love from people for it." He also credited Dr. Rahi Masoom Raza for his dialogues in 'Mahabharat', saying, "He used to tell me that his pen would write endlessly about my character just by looking at me. Bhishma Pitamah made me a household name."
