Jaipur: Mallikarjun Kharge will take over as the party president on Wednesday. On this, Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot said that this is a new beginning. We congratulate Mallikarjun Kharge and we will work with him to strengthen the party. He also said that we kept applauding Rahul Gandhi till the last minute. So that he became the party president because we think he can challenge PM Narendra Modi and his government alone.

This statement of Gehlot is considered very important. He was also a strong contender to become the party president. At one time, it seemed that he would become the party president. However, his supporters in Rajasthan, the Congress MLA, wanted Gehlot to continue as CM. Due to this, there was confusion and Gehlot lost the post. On September 25, Congress observers called a legislature party meeting to hold talks on the name of the new CM. Instead of attending this meeting, the MLA had gathered at the residence of Minister Pratap Singh Khachariyawas. Where ministers and MLAs of the Gehlot faction had opposed Sachin Pilot's appointment as chief minister. He later tendered his resignation after reaching the residence of Assembly Speaker CP Joshi.  

Gehlot and Sachin Pilot will be seen together amid the political crisis in Rajasthan. After about six months, these two leaders will be seen together in the swearing-in ceremony of newly appointed Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge. Mallikarjun Kharge's swearing-in ceremony is today. Rahul Gandhi has also returned to Delhi from Bharat Jodo Yatra to attend this program. On October 27, Rahul will once again join the Bharat Jodo Yatra.
