Currently, the company has started it in the US by the name of Amazon Pharmacy. This move by Amazon is expected to give a tough competition to drug retailers Walgreens, CVS and Walmart in the US.
Amazon has introduced an online pharmacy service in the US named Amazon Pharmacy to facilitate the purchase of prescription drugs online. Amazon is planning to start an online pharmacy worldwide soon. On Amazon portal or its app, the customer will also get the facility to compare the price of medicine before purchasing the medicine. The supplier will be able to buy medicine at cheaper prices than the supplier who is selling cheap medicines.
Amazon's loyalty club members will also get a strong discount on the purchase of medicines. Amazon said the company had been working for two years for home delivery of prescription-based medicine in the US. During this time the company took a license from all the states of the US for medicine delivery and formed a supply chain. American market research firm JD Power says that Amazon's path in this field will not be easy, as it will have to compete with companies including drug retailers Walgreens, CVS Health, Walmart, Right Aid, Corger.
