Great news for travelers! The Noida International Airport, also called Jewar Airport, is almost finished and ready to welcome passengers this October. It will be the biggest airport in India, adding to the existing Delhi Airport and Hindon Airbase in the National Capital Region.
To make it easy to get to the airport, there will be several ways to travel:
High-speed roads: A brand new 31-kilometer expressway is being built to connect the airport to the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway. There will also be a shorter 8-kilometer road opening by June to connect the airport to the Yamuna Expressway. Plus, a special VIP road is planned for emergencies and important visitors.
Rapid Rail: A fast metro system is being planned to connect the airport to other parts of the city. Details are still being worked out, but it's expected to be ready in a few years.
Futuristic Pod Taxis: Imagine tiny driverless cars whisking you to your destination! These high-tech pod taxis are still under study, but could be a future option for getting around the airport area.
The airport will also have plenty of shops to explore, including duty-free stores where you can buy things without paying taxes. This will be a great place to find souvenirs or gifts before your flight.
