The Native Tribes Front of Tripura (IPFT), a junior ally in the ruling coalition, held a two-day central executive committee meeting. On Saturday, the key CEC meeting began, with a list of topics including the party's next course of action ahead of the 2023 elections, and is expected to go till Sunday.

If party insiders are to be believed, the party's current supremo is going to be relieved of his responsibilities due to health concerns. However, there have been no formal statements on the subject so far. In response to the problem, IPFT second in command and party general secretary Mevar Kumar Jamatia stated that the organisation was eager to make some reshuffles.

"We convene a central executive conference every six months as part of a routine activity." The conference began today and will go through February 13th. It is a really important conference. We're attempting to obtain reports from each of the state's 34 divisions. We have 300 MCC members, and we are hoping to receive a detailed report on the party's ground condition," he stated. "We have a plan to rearrange the CEC because many of the party's leaders have gone, and we will have a state conference soon," he continued.

According to sources, Forest Minister and current IPFT supremo NC Debbarma may be freed of his responsibilities due to his health. Debbarma has been absent from the political scene for the past few months due to his advanced age.
