The highest number of students qualifying in the medical entrance examination NEET this year is from Uttar Pradesh. The NEET 2020 examination results were announced by the National Testing Agency on October 17, 2020. As per the data released, the highest number of students qualifying for the NEET 2020 examinations goes for Uttar Pradesh followed by Maharashtra. Over 7.7 lakh students from 13.66 lakh students qualified for the exams for the MBBS programmes across the country. Officials have informed that the maximum number of candidates clearing the NEET from Uttar Pradesh with 88,889 students while Maharashtra took the second position with 79,974 students.
Referring to the other states, which have the highest number of qualifying candidates for the NEET include Rajasthan with 65,758 students, followed by Kerala with 59,404 candidates and Karnataka with 55,009 number of students who have qualified for the examinations. Delhi has a total of 23,554 candidates who have qualified for the examination and 22,395 students have qualified from Haryana. According to the initial statistics Tripura was come at the top with the highest number who have qualified for the NEET 2020 entrance examinations however the NTA corrected the data later mentioning the same as a ‘Human Error’
According to data, the number of female candidates who have qualified for the NEET 2020 entrance examinations is higher with 4.27 lakh females clearing the exams. On the other hand male students number goes 3.43 lakh. One of the four transgender candidates who have appeared for the examinations have also completed the examinations.
