BHOPAL: On Friday, tens of thousands of candidates for the Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission (MPPSC) protested the failure to release the 2019 and 2020 exam results.
The candidates marched through Indore, the commercial hub of Madhya Pradesh. With Tricolors in hand and singing phrases like "We Want Justice" and "Bharat Mata Ki Jai," they demonstrated peacefully.
At Bholaram Ustad Marg (in Indore city), the candidates assembled and marched toward the MPPSC office. After arriving, they urged that the results for 2019 and 2020 be made public as soon as possible because many of them were getting older. In the meantime, coaching centers were shut down, and students taking the MPPSC and other government exams joined the demonstration.
They said that the polls would be held in 15 days and the results would be announced in five days, but the MPPSC exams were held four years after the last ones, and then the matter gets pending the court.
The MPPSC results for the exams held in 2019 and 2020 are the subject of a legal dispute before the Madhya Pradesh High Court. According to those with knowledge of the situation, the OBC reservation issue has caused results to be delayed for the last three and a half years.
