Following a two-day decline, equity benchmark indices rebounded on Monday, buoyed by global market strength and robust purchasing activity in HDFC Bank.

The BSE Sensex experienced a rise of 110.09 points or 0.17%, settling at 64,996.60. Over the course of the day, it surged by 326.94 points or 0.50%, reaching 65,213.45.  The NSE Nifty concluded with a gain of 40.25 points or 0.21%, closing at 19,306.05.

Among the notable gainers in the Sensex group were Larsen & Toubro, Mahindra & Mahindra, HDFC Bank, Sun Pharma, Maruti, Kotak Mahindra Bank, IndusInd Bank, Tata Steel, and State Bank of India. Conversely, Reliance Industries, Nestle, Titan, HCL Technologies, ITC, and Tata Motors were among the companies experiencing declines.
International Markets: Asian markets, including Seoul, Tokyo, Shanghai, and Hong Kong, ended the session on a positive note. Meanwhile, European markets exhibited positive trading, and the US markets finished in the green on Friday.

Crude Oil: Brent crude, the global oil benchmark, saw a 0.37% increase, reaching USD 84.79 per barrel.

FPI: As per exchange data, Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) divested equities worth Rs. 4,638.21 crore on Friday.

Rupee Vs Dollar: The rupee maintained a relatively stable position, gaining 1 paisa to settle at 82.63 against the US dollar. The day's modest uptick in the rupee was influenced by positive performance in domestic equities. However, gains were capped by the strengthening US dollar and a rebound in crude oil prices.

Forex traders noted that the Indian rupee saw modest advancements on Monday due to favorable domestic equities. Nevertheless, the ascent of the US dollar and the resurgence in crude oil prices prevented substantial gains.

Gold MCX: In the national capital, gold prices dipped by Rs. 50 to reach Rs. 59,550 per 10 grams on Monday. This decline was in tandem with the global drop in precious metal prices. Internationally, gold and silver were valued at USD 1,914 per ounce and USD 24.17 per ounce, respectively.
