Mumbai is abuzz today as the INDIA alliance convenes for its third meeting. Over the next two days, the coalition will strategize its approach towards the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, slated for the next year, as well as deliberate on the potential inclusion of new alliance partners.

In addition to charting out strategies and exploring new partnerships, the agenda for these two days encompasses the grand unveiling of the INDIA bloc's official logo and comprehensive discussions on the Common Minimum Programme (CMP).

The Grand Hyatt Hotel in Mumbai plays host to this significant gathering, where a total of 63 representatives hailing from 28 distinct political parties are anticipated to participate. The Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA) has brought these leaders together to deliberate on the nation's future direction.

Playing the role of host is the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA), a collaborative effort involving the Congress, the Shiv Sena (UBT), and the NCP under the guidance of Sharad Pawar.

This marks the third iteration of the alliance's brainstorming sessions, with previous meetings held in Patna and Bengaluru. The aim remains constant: to collectively devise an effective campaign strategy capable of challenging the NDA's stronghold in the impending 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

Before the commencement of the summit, the Shiv Sena faction led by Uddhav Thackeray made a visible statement by adorning the Mumbai airport vicinity with saffron flags and portraits of Uddhav himself.

Notably, the route leading to the meeting venue is now adorned with posters extending a warm welcome to a multitude of opposition leaders. Among them are Mamata Banerjee, the Chief Minister of West Bengal, Sitaram Yechury, the Secretary-General of the Communist Party of India (Marxist), and Omar Abdullah, the leader of the National Conference. These prominent figures are set to participate in the third iteration of the Opposition conclave in Mumbai, making their presence felt as they journey towards the meeting point.
