New Delhi: The Indian Premier League (IPL) may present Justin Langer with a chance. He has been connected to the Lucknow Super Giants, and if talks go well, he might become the team's manager starting in the upcoming campaign. The parties are currently in talks about forming an association.

Although neither Langer nor the LSG management have stated that negotiations are still going on, IPL sources claim that the former Australian coach and the team have had many rounds of meetings.

Prior to that, Langer led Australia to victory at the 2021 Twenty20 World Cup and coached the Perth Scorchers to three Big Bash League championships in the first four years.

The franchise management chose not to remark on the possible change in the coaching staff. Langer (52) is not currently committed to any coaching responsibilities.

If a deal is signed, Langer will replace Andy Flower, whose two-year deal with the team controlled by Sanjiv Goenka expired with the IPL 2023. Morne Morkel, Jonty Rhodes, and Vijay Dahiya are anticipated to keep their positions as assistant coaches for bowling, fielding, and batting, respectively. However, there have been no negotiations regarding any additional changes to the LSG support team.

The KL Rahul-led club played admirably under Flower's leadership, making the playoffs both seasons but falling short of the championship game. Both seasons, they came in third place.

Changes in coaching are also anticipated for other IPL clubs. There are rumors that certain well-known figures may be fired from their positions as coaches for teams that have not fared well in the league. However, the Chandrakant Pandit-led Kolkata Knight Riders, who placed seventh in the previous season, are anticipated to stick with their existing lineup.
