KERALA- Kollam: In connection with an alleged incident where a student was allegedly requested to remove her innerwear before taking the National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET) in the state's Kollam district, two more people have been detained, according to police, including an NTA observer.

The people detained, according to Kollam Police, are Dr. Shamnad, an NTA observer, and Priji Kurian Issac, vice principal of Mar Thoma Institute of IT and centre superintendent of the NEET exam.
Five people were previously detained by the police in relation to an alleged incident. Three agency employees and two college students are among the people who were arrested.

Kerala police opened a complaint in this matter earlier on Tuesday. At the Chadayamangalam police station,  a case was opened under sections 354 and 509 of the Indian Penal Code.

After the NEET exam for undergraduate medical programmes on July 18, a student at Kollam filed a complaint with the Superintendent of Police about the incident.

According to reports, the student's parent claimed that girls were required to remove their innerwear before being allowed to take the test, and they had to take it in front of male invigilators and other male students, which caused the girls to feel uneasy and negatively impacted their mental health.
