Jasprit Bumrah, along with his wife Sanjana Ganesan, has received the wonderful blessing of a baby boy. This unexpected joy came after Bumrah's sudden return from Sri Lanka, where he had initially kept the reason for his departure undisclosed. However, on Monday, he took to his social media platform to share this exciting news with his fans.
In a heartwarming post, Bumrah introduced their newest family member, Angad Jasprit Bumrah, along with a touching message: "Our little family has expanded, and our hearts are brimming with joy! This morning, we welcomed our son, Angad Jasprit Bumrah, into the world. We are elated and eagerly looking forward to the adventures this new chapter in our lives will bring. - Jasprit and Sanjana." The couple also revealed their baby's name as Angad. Bumrah and Ganesan tied the knot in a wedding ceremony held in Goa in March 2021.
Bumrah had recently been part of the Indian cricket team during their clash with Pakistan on Saturday. However, his time on the field was brief, facing just 14 balls and scoring 16 runs. Unfortunately, rain disrupted the match in Kandy, preventing Bumrah from bowling. Consequently, the game was called off, resulting in both teams sharing a point. Bumrah had only just returned to ODI cricket after recovering from a back stress fracture.
Due to his family commitments, Bumrah will be absent from the upcoming match against Nepal, scheduled for Monday. In his absence, the experienced fast bowler Shami is expected to step in as Bumrah's replacement in India's playing XI. Bumrah is anticipated to rejoin the team in preparation for India's Super Four game on Sunday. It's worth noting that India must secure a victory against Nepal to advance to the next round, although the threat of rain once again disrupting play looms.
