RAJASTHAN: Jaipur Airport’s Terminal 1 is ready to reopen, with an inauguration ceremony led by Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma on October 26. From October 27, this terminal will operate solely for international flights, enhancing the travel experience for both domestic and international passengers.
The addition of Terminal 1 brings Jaipur Airport to two dedicated terminals, with Terminal 2 now reserved exclusively for domestic flights. Terminal 1, designed to reflect local heritage aesthetics, can accommodate up to 1.5 million passengers annually. It features a departure area with around 10 immigration counters and an arrival area with 14 counters, improving the check-in and arrival processes.
Approximately 100 security personnel, including CISF and airport security, will be stationed at the terminal. Enhanced amenities include a medical room, 24-hour ambulance service, and comfortable passenger lounges. The terminal’s new international routes to Abu Dhabi and Kuala Lumpur are expected to increase tourism in Rajasthan.
The first flight at the newly renovated Terminal 1 will be an Etihad Airways flight from Abu Dhabi, landing at 2:10 am on October 27. With this update, Jaipur Airport continues its position as one of India's busiest, supporting increased passenger traffic and providing upgraded facilities.
