An attack on an Israeli bus near the Jewish settlement of Ariel in the occupied West Bank left at least eight people injured, Israeli military and emergency services reported on Friday. The assailant opened fire on the bus, injuring four passengers with gunshot wounds, three of whom are in serious condition. Additionally, four others were hurt by flying glass from the shattered windows.

The attacker was killed by Israeli troops shortly after the shooting. Authorities have not yet released information on the identity of the gunman. The incident occurred amid heightened tensions and violence in the West Bank, which has surged since the start of the Hamas-Israel war in Gaza last October.

In another attack near the Giti Avisar junction, two armed men targeted a civilian bus, injuring eight people. The gunmen used assault rifles to shoot at the bus, causing chaos as the passengers were caught in the crossfire. Emergency responders from Magen David Adom (MDA) confirmed the injuries, with three individuals critically hurt, and one in moderate condition. The other four victims suffered minor injuries from broken glass.

Israeli security forces quickly responded to the scene, killing one of the attackers. The second attacker managed to flee, and a manhunt is underway to locate him. The Giti Avisar junction has been sealed off as authorities continue their investigation and search for the remaining suspect.

As of now, no group has claimed responsibility for the attack. Security forces are working to determine the motives behind the shooting and prevent further violence in the area. This attack highlights the ongoing instability in the region, as Israeli authorities strive to maintain security and peace.
