In the meeting in which a proposal of Rs 196 crore was passed for the development of the city, except the women Muslim members, the entire house stood in honor of the national song 'Vande Mataram'. The people of the house were also annoyed by this act. The National Anthem was played before the commencement of the proceedings of the House. Union Minister Sanjeev Balyan instructed everyone to respect the national anthem and the national anthem. Councilors also discussed this. The Union Minister said that when women insult the national anthem, how will they strengthen the society?

Let us inform that the matter of giving equal status to the national anthem 'Jana Gana Mana' is under consideration in the court and in the last week of May 2022, the Delhi High Court had also sought a response from the Central Government in this regard. BJP leader and lawyer by profession Ashwini Upadhyay has filed a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) in this regard. He said that due to no guidelines regarding the national anthem, it is being used in an uncivilized manner and it is also being insulted in films and parties.

Ashwini Upadhyay had said in his petition that on January 24, 1950, the Chairman of the Constituent Assembly, Dr. Rajendra Prasad, had said that the song 'Vande Mataram' had played a historic role in the struggle for Indian independence and was referred to as 'Jana-Gana-Mana'. should be respected equally. He said that the demand for playing both equally in all the institutions has been made to the court.
