India's Ambitious Bid: Pursuing 2036 Olympics with Indigenous Sports -Â India's sports authorities are actively preparing to bolster their bid to host the 2036 Olympics, aiming to advocate for the inclusion of traditional sports such as yoga, kho kho, and kabaddi. The Sports Authority of India (SAI) is meticulously compiling reports to substantiate their proposal and showcase the potential of these indigenous disciplines.
In anticipation of the Paris Olympics, Indian sports administrators are gearing up for intensive lobbying efforts to enhance the country's prospects of securing the 2036 Games. The proposal hinges on integrating disciplines like yoga, kho kho, and kabaddi into the Olympic program, alongside chess, T20 cricket, and squash, as outlined in a detailed report presented to Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya by the SAI's Mission Olympic Cell (MOC).
"We have made significant strides in our preparations for the Olympic bid, but effective advocacy with the International Olympic Committee (IOC) during the Paris Games will be pivotal," stated a senior member of the MOC. The final decision regarding hosting rights will be contingent on the IOC's selection of a new president next year.
