Warsaw: The Indian diaspora in Poland enthusiastically applauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his powerful speech, which highlighted India's impressive growth story. The event was organized by the Indian community in Warsaw, marking the first visit of an Indian Prime Minister to Poland in 45 years.

Speaking after the event, Akashdeep, a member of the Indian community, expressed his admiration for the speech, saying, “We thoroughly enjoyed PM Modi’s address. We had been eagerly waiting for him since morning, and he delivered with great energy. Today, he stands as one of the most charismatic leaders. The entire hall was buzzing with excitement as he spoke, and it was an unforgettable experience for everyone.”

The Prime Minister’s address resonated deeply with the Indian community as he shared insights into India’s progress, underlining the country's economic growth over the last decade. Another member of the diaspora shared, “His speech was excellent, and we were thrilled to meet him in person. The statistics he presented reflected India's rapid growth, which made us feel proud and optimistic about the future.”

Hiren, another attendee, praised PM Modi’s mastery of facts and figures, noting, “As always, he was incredible with his command of numbers and his ability to connect with the audience. The excitement in the room was palpable, with people chanting slogans and feeling moved by his words. We feel fortunate to have seen him so up close, something that would be hard to experience back in India.”

Arpita Banerjee, a Bharatanatyam dancer from Poland, performed at the event and described it as a tremendous honor. She said, “It was an incredible opportunity to perform in front of PM Modi. Alongside my partner, I performed both Bharatanatyam and Kathak. We aimed to represent classical dance from the southern and northern regions of India. Performing at such a grand event is a moment I will always cherish.”

During his speech, PM Modi emphasized the change in India’s foreign policy, stating that India now seeks to build closer relationships with all nations, unlike the previous stance of keeping distance. He also spoke about India’s ambition to become the world’s third-largest economy in the coming years and the country’s goal to achieve developed-nation status by 2047.

The Prime Minister also acknowledged the vital role the Indian community played in assisting Indian students stranded in Ukraine during the 2022 conflict. He encouraged the diaspora to become ambassadors of Indian tourism and be part of the country’s growth story.

PM Modi further highlighted the strengthening of ties between India and Poland, citing new collaborations in technology and clean energy. He announced a forthcoming social security agreement between the two countries, which he described as a major step benefiting the Indian community in Poland.

Reflecting on historical ties, PM Modi recalled the generosity of Jamsaheb of Nawanagar, who provided refuge to Polish women and children during World War II. He noted that the Jamsaheb is still fondly remembered as the "Good Maharaja" in Poland. The Prime Minister also laid wreaths at the memorials honoring this shared history during his visit.

As PM Modi concluded his speech, the Indian community showered him with affection, chanting patriotic slogans and expressing their admiration for his leadership. The event not only celebrated India’s progress but also underscored the enduring connection between India and Poland.
