Aligarh: Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) in Uttar Pradesh has once again been embroiled in controversy. In fact, Danish Rahim, a student, has alleged that he is being tortured for praising PM Narendra Modi. He is being asked for a degree back. It has appealed to PM Modi to intervene in the matter. However, the university administration has dismissed the student's allegations.

According to the report, Danish Rahim, a PHD researcher, has also filed a plea in the issue with the high court. He claims the AMU has written him a notification requesting that he surrender his linguistic degree and instead pursue a LAM degree. He claims it's because he applauded Prime Minister Modi. According to Danish, Prime Minister Modi gave the address on December 22, 2020, to commemorate the AMU's 100th anniversary. While speaking to the media, he lauded the Prime Minister. Professor Mohammad Jahangir, the chairman of the language department, is now tormenting him about this.

Danish has said that he holds a Ph.D. in linguistics and is affiliated with AMU. On March 9th, 2021, he received his diploma. In November of last year, her senior, Dr. Maria Naeem, was given a Ph.D. He is now being asked to return his degree after around six months. Prof. Mohammad Jahangir allegedly called him around February 8 this year and told him that he was a student and that he should not talk in favour of any political party. Your demeanour and interview make you appear to be a party animal.

Danish Rahim's charges, on the other hand, have been dismissed by AMU spokesperson Saifi Kidwai as absolutely unfounded in this situation. According to the spokesman, Danish earned his MA and PhD from the Department of Linguistics' LAM (Language of Advertising and Marketing) programme, which also provides a PHD in Linguistics. He should pursue a PHD in LAM after completing his MA in LAM. According to the spokeswoman, Danish was incorrectly given a Ph.D. in linguistics. That will now be rectified. This incident is unrelated to politics in any way.
