The Hong Kong International Cricket Sixes (HK6s) is making a thrilling comeback after a seven-year break. Running from November 1-3, the tournament will feature 12 teams, including India, Australia, Pakistan, and England, competing in this high-energy format of cricket.
India's squad, led by Robin Uthappa, includes top players like Kedar Jadhav, Manoj Tiwary, and Stuart Binny. The format is fast-paced, with each game consisting of six-over innings. In this unique setup, batters retire after reaching 50 runs, and fielders rotate to keep the excitement going.
This year’s event, hosted at the Tin Kwong Road Recreation Ground in Hong Kong, will feature 29 matches over three days. The tournament, which began in 1992, has a rich history with past appearances by cricket legends such as Sachin Tendulkar and Shane Warne.
Fans can expect non-stop entertainment as some of cricket’s best talents face off in this action-packed event. Yannick Colaco, co-founder of FanCode, expressed his excitement about broadcasting the tournament, noting that the return of the Hong Kong Sixes has been eagerly awaited by fans.
Cricket Hong Kong’s chairperson, Burji Shroff, emphasized the importance of partnerships like the one with FanCode in making HK6s a globally recognized event. He highlighted FanCode's expertise in delivering a top-notch streaming experience to millions of fans.
The 12 teams are divided into four groups, with India, Pakistan, and the UAE in Group C. Other strong teams, such as South Africa, New Zealand, and Australia, are placed in different groups. The top two teams from each group will advance to the quarterfinals.
The return of the Hong Kong Sixes promises fast-paced action, unexpected twists, and a display of incredible cricketing skills that will keep fans on the edge of their seats.
