Panaji: Amid rising inflation, the government has made a big announcement. The government decided to give 3 gas cylinders free of cost to each household i.e. every family annually. The government took this decision in the cabinet meeting, after which now people are getting the benefit of it. In a major decision in the first cabinet meeting, the Goa government announced to give 3 cooking gas cylinders free of cost to each family in the state, as promised by the BJP in its election manifesto. Cm Pramod Sawant made the announcement during the cabinet meeting.  

On Monday evening, CM Pramod Sawant informed in a tweet that the cabinet has decided to prepare a plan to give 3 cylinders free of cost as promised in the BJP's manifesto from the new financial year. It may be recalled that before the assembly elections in Goa last month, the BJP in its election manifesto had promised that if the party means the BJP comes to power, then each family in the state will be given three LPG cylinders free of cost every year.  

Later, Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, while talking to reporters, said that the resumption of iron ore mining and employment generation have been his priorities due to his current tenure. On being described as an "accidental chief minister" by his opponents, Sawant said this time he has been "elected" as the CM of the state, but he has been "not elected".
