Dehradun: Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami said that forced conversion is a big problem. The government has decided to bring a strict law to stop religious conversion in Devbhoomi. Talking to the media, CM Dhami said that before the assembly elections in the state, we had told to the people of Uttarakhand that we will implement a common civil code for all within the state.

The people of the same state gave their majority on this. After coming to power, the first committee was formed for Uniform Civil Code. The committee is preparing proposals after taking suggestions from all sections. Chief Minister Dhami said that conversion is a big problem.

Forced conversion in Devbhoomi is a serious matter, which should not happen. For this, the government has decided to bring a tough law. In the cabinet, the government has given permission to the Uttarakhand Religion Freedom (Amendment) Bill, in which there will be a provision of punishment for 10 years for forced conversion. Any person can file a case of forced conversion. The people of Uttarakhand are very happy with this decision and everyone is giving their opinion. Many people are also raising questions about this.
