PANAJI: The Goa government will put the Chips to Startup programme in state colleges into action. Rohan Khaunte, minister of information and technology in Goa, announced on Wednesday that the state's institutions would participate in the Union government's renowned "Chips to Startup (C2S)" programme.
He had conversations about the implementation of this ambitious scheme in Goa with Union IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw during his most recent trip to the nation's capital.
"The Chips to Startup (C2S) initiative will be implemented in various Goa colleges," he said.
The Union Ministry of Electronics and Information has invited 100 academic institutions, R&D organisations, startups, and MSMEs to submit applications under the C2S initiative as part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's strategy to make India the world's next semiconductor centre.
Over the course of five years, the C2S programme seeks to train 85,000 highly skilled and qualified engineers in the design of embedded systems and very large-scale integration. It also aims to produce 175 application-specific integrated circuits, 20 system on chips with working prototypes, and an IP core repository.
