PANAJI: 'The State Government of Goa is gearing up to commemorate the 62nd Anniversary of the Liberation of Goa on Tuesday, December 19, 2023. The pivotal event will commence with a flag hoisting ceremony at 9:15 a.m. at the Goa University Ground in Taleigao, Goa.
Dr. Pramod Sawant, the Chief Minister, will lead the ceremony by unfurling the National Flag, accompanied by the stirring melodies of the Police Band playing the National Anthem. The Police Guard of honor will pay tribute with the National Salute as part of the ceremony. Dr. Sawant will also oversee the parade and March-Past during the event.
Across various locations in the state, similar flag hoisting ceremonies will take place simultaneously. Ministers and Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) will preside over these ceremonies at different taluka headquarters at 9:15 a.m. The allocation of these ceremonial duties is as follows:
Minister for Law and Judiciary, Shri Aleixo Sequeira, will hoist the National flag at Margao.
Minister for Agriculture, Shri Ravi Naik, will unfurl the National tricolor at Ponda.
Minister for Tourism, Shri. Rohan Khaunte, will preside at Mapusa.
Minister for Transport, Shri Mauvin Godinho, will lead the ceremony at Vasco.
Minister of Fisheries, Shri Nilkanth Halarnkar, will be at Pernem.
Minister for Social Welfare, Shri Subhash Phal Dessai, will oversee proceedings at Sanguem.
Minister for Water Resources, Shri Subhash Shirodkar, will head the ceremony at Quepem.
Moreover, Speaker of the Goa Legislative Assembly, Shri Ramesh Tawadkar, will hoist the National tricolor at Canacona. Additionally, MLA Poriem, Smt. Deviya Rane, will be at Valpoi, MLA Maem, Shri Premendra Shet, will lead the ceremony at Bicholim, and MLA Sanvordem will oversee the flag hoisting at Dharbandora.
