According to government oil companies, petrol became cheaper by 1 paise to reach Rs 96.64 a liter in Gautam Budh Nagar district (Noida-Greater Noida) this morning, while there is no change in diesel prices. At the same time, petrol fell by 13 paise to Rs 96.44 a liter in Lucknow, while diesel is being sold 12 paise cheaper at Rs 89.64. Apart from this, in Patna, the capital of Bihar, the rate of petrol fell by 71 paise to Rs 107.24 per liter, while diesel fell by 66 paise to Rs 94.04 per liter. Now if we talk about crude oil, then there has been a big fall in its prices in the last 24 hours.
Yes, and Brent crude fell nearly $1.5 this morning to $81.21 per barrel. Along with this, the rate of WTI has also decreased by almost $76.09 per barrel today. Let us also tell you that there is a change in the prices of petrol and diesel every day at 6 am. Yes, the new rates are applicable from 6 am itself. After adding excise duty, dealer commission, VAT, and other things to the price of petrol and diesel, its price almost doubles from the original price. This is the reason why the prices of petrol and diesel appear so high.
