JAIPUR: Former RBI Governor Raghuram Rajan today (December 14) joined Rahul Gandhi's Bharat Jodo Yatra in Rajasthan.

During the yatra, which resumed this morning from Bhadoti of Sawai Madhopur, Rahul Gandhi and Rajan had a conversation that lasted for more than half an hour.

Rajan is renowned for maintaining a candid viewpoint on economic matters. He is known for keeping a frank opinion on economic issues. Both put forth their views on the economic issues for a documentary.

During the second term of the UPA and the early years of the Modi government, Raghuram Rajan served as the governor of the Reserve Bank of India.

Officials said that Rahul Gandhi's Bharat Jodo Yatra will have a week-long pause after crossing the Rajasthan-Haryana border. There will be a break in travel from December 24 to January 2.

Rahul Gandhi will go to Jaipur on December 16 when the yatra's 100 days are up, said Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh. All the passengers will participate in Sunidhi Chauhan's music event in Jaipur.

Wednesday was the tenth  day of Bharat Jodo Yatra in Rajasthan. The yatra resumed from Bhadoti village, which falls under Bamanwas Vidhan Sabha seat. Today, the Yatra will cover a distance of 25 kilometres.

Rajasthan is the only Congress-ruled state where the Bharat Jodo Yatra has entered and will cover over 500 km over 17 days before reaching Haryana on December 21.
