New Delhi: On the first day of the two-day session of the Delhi Assembly, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia tabled a bill for the Delhi Teachers University.
Sisodia, who also holds the education ministry, said the AAP administration has made historic decisions over the previous seven years, including allocating 25% of the budget to education. "This isn't a formula for romanticism." We're doing it because we believe that education is the most important necessity. "The teachers deserve the majority of the credit for the education revolution," he remarked in the House.
On January 1, the minister paid a visit to a Delhi Teachers University campus in Bakkarwala that was still under construction. He had requested that the construction work be expedited so that the session could begin as soon as possible.
To prepare a new generation of teachers, the university will provide BA-BEd and BSc-BEd teacher education programmes. Students will interact with Delhi government schools for the duration of their studies and gain hands-on experience with a focus on research as part of this project. The Delhi Teachers University will be built on 12 acres of land and will include lecture halls, computer labs, and a world-class library.
