NEW DELHI: Starting from Monday, the second phase of the Common Seat Allotment System (CSAS) for getting into undergraduate (UG) programmes at Delhi University commenced. At the same time, Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) opened its portal for the admissions process based on the CUET (UG) exam on Tuesday.
The Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) is an online platform that will make it easier to fill out the application form for admission to the undergraduate programmes.
Candidates who passed the first part of the application process for Delhi University based on the CUET (UG) exam can now choose their courses and colleges. Those who haven't finished the first step of the registration process can still apply and then move on to the second step.
In an official notice, the DU Registrar said that candidates will be able to look at their UG specialised programmes on the CSAS portal. The students' CUET scores will be calculated automatically on the portal and shown on the candidate's dashboard.
Students can choose the colleges and courses they want to take, and they can also use the "Advanced Filter" option at the top of the page to narrow down their UG programmes. This is the second step of the admissions process, where the candidate chooses and sorts his or her preferences.
On September 27, 28, and 29, Delhi University will hold a series of webinars for the candidates to help them learn more about the public. The webinar will be broadcast live on the varsity's official YouTube channel. Through the CUET UG examination, more than 6 lakh students chose to get into DU.
With the release of the cut-off list, students who want to get into DU will also be able to register their CUET UG exam scores on the university's admission portal. In the second phase, students will also be able to use the admission portal to choose the colleges they want to attend.
DU says that applications for UG programmes will be accepted between September 26 and October 10. This year, DU says that all of the colleges it works with will have three rounds of admissions through the CSAS portal. Because of this, DU's new UG courses are likely to start in November.
In the first phase, which began on September 12, students could sign up through the CSAS portal. In the second phase, which starts on September 26, students will be able to use the CSAS portal to apply for the course and college of their choice. Along with this, DU will also put out its first cut-off list, which will be used to let students into different colleges and courses.
