Jaipur: Amidst the ongoing political tussle with former Rajasthan Deputy CM and Congress leader Sachin Pilot, CM Ashok Gehlot has said that the media should not start a fight between the people. However, CM Gehlot has not named anyone during this period. He said that the media should fulfill its duty and it is in the public interest.
Talking to the press people in Jaipur, CM Gehlot said, 'Media should stick to truth and facts, media should not make us fight among ourselves. They (media persons) should fulfill their duty and it is in the public interest, the media should support the government in reiterating the truth.' CM Gehlot further said, 'I do not say that present false figures or praise us falsely, but I would like the media to run on the basis of truth. The media is under pressure from the central government, but they should look after the public interest.
Although, during this time CM Gehlot did not name anyone, but his statement here has come in the midst of an ongoing dispute with Sachin Pilot. Ever since the formation of the Congress government in Rajasthan in December 2018, there has been a political dispute between the two over the CM's chair. Meanwhile, many times CM Gehlot has given controversial statements about Pilot, even Gehlot had called him useless, traitor. At the same time, Pilot had gone on hunger strike against his own Gehlot government. This tussle between the two has been going on for almost 4 years, but now Gehlot is saying that the media is making them quarrel, and the media should not do this.
