New Delhi: After registering an FIR against All India Majlis-e-Ittehad-ul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi for his provocative statements, his political party has suffered another setback. On Thursday, 30 AIMIM activists arrested after a protest outside the Sansad Marg police station in New Delhi district have been detained by the Delhi Police. They have started obstructing official work, have been detained under sections related to rioting by joining the crowd and assembling for criminal act.
According to reports, these workers have started sloganeering and ruckus outside the police station in protest against the controversial statement given by Nupur Sharma, who was recently expelled from BJP. Meanwhile, the matter of FIR against Owaisi was also heard to be heard. All the activists have been detained by the police. New Delhi Deputy Commissioner of Police Amrit Guguloth said that 30 protesters have been detained under various sections of the Indian Penal Code.
