DAEI takes strict action against Arindam Sil for sexual harassment

Bengali filmmaker  Arindam Sil  has been accused of sexual harassment by an actress, after which  the Directors Association of Eastern India (DAEI)  has taken a big step. Arindam Sil has been suspended and his membership has also been terminated.

Directors Association suspended

DAEI  has taken strict action against Arindam Sil due to the allegations of sexual harassment against him and has expelled him from the organization. The organization's president  Subrata Sen  and secretary  Sudeshna Roy  sent an official letter to Arindam Sil informing him about this decision.

Suspension pending resolution of charges

Subrata Sen and Sudeshna Roy wrote in their letter, "In view of the allegations made against you and the preliminary evidence we have, which are tarnishing the image of the organisation, DAEI has decided to suspend you from the organisation indefinitely or until these allegations are settled."

Arindam Sil gave clarification

Arindam Sil has broken his silence on this matter. Talking to the media, he said that he did not do the allegations being made against him intentionally. He says that this incident happened recently on the set of a film, when he went to the actress to explain a scene. Arindam says that the people present there and the entire team of the film will testify that whatever happened was unintentional and not intentional.

Arindam Sil is known for many famous films. He   has directed films like  'Har Har Byomkesh'  and  'Mitin Mashi' . Apart from this, his series named 'Shabor' has also been very popular. Arindam has also been associated with Bollywood. He  has worked as an executive producer in films like  Ranveer Singh, Priyanka Chopra and Arjun Kapoor's film  'Gunday'  and Vidya Balan's  'Kahaani' .
