New Delhi: England’s Fast Bowler James Anderson turns 41 today. James is regarded as one of the best swing bowlers in cricket history.
James Michael Anderson is an English cricketer who was born on July 30, 1982. He formerly represented England's limited overs cricket teams. He plays for the Lancashire County Cricket Club in domestic cricket. The English team that won the 2010 ICC World Twenty20 included Anderson. He has more than 1100 first-class wickets.
Anderson played for England's ODI team from 2002 to 2015, Twenty20 international team from 2007 to 2009, and Test team from 2003 to 2015. Anderson also made his Test debut in 2003.The England and Wales Cricket Board named Anderson to the nation's greatest Test XI in honor of England's 1,000th Test in 2018.According to the ICC Men's Player Rankings as of February 2023, he is the best Test bowler in the world.

Anderson bowls with his right arm and has a fast-medium pace. He is the all-time leading Test wicket-taker among fast bowlers, the first fast bowler to have 600 or more Test wickets, and the all-time leading Test wicket-taker for England. He has participated in the second-highest number of Test matches of any cricketer, behind Sachin Tendulkar, for England. With 269 wickets, he is also England's leading ODI wicket-taker. He and Joe Root hold the world record for the most tenth-wicket partnerships in Test cricket (198).
Burnley's St Mary's and St. Theodore's RC High School was where James Anderson graduated from. From a young age, he participated in cricket at Burnley Cricket Club. His childhood ambition was to play cricket, and at the age of 17, following a growth spurt, Anderson was one of the Lancashire League's fastest bowlers. I've always bowled seam, but I don't know what it was, but I just started bowling fast all of a sudden when I was about 17," he claimed. He is an avid supporter of Burnley, his home team.
Soon after making his debut, he rose to prominence as one of English cricket's biggest stars. He made history by becoming the first fast bowler to record 50 wickets against all other seven major Test-playing nations, including Australia, India, New Zealand, Pakistan, South Africa, Sri Lanka, and West Indies, on July 25, 2016, at Old Trafford during the second Test of the England-Pakistan series of that year.
Anderson became the ninth cricketer to play in 150 Test matches in December 2019 when the first Test against South Africa was played. The second Test of the series against South Africa in January 2020 marked Anderson's 28th five-wicket haul in Test cricket. He now holds the record for the most five-wicket hauls for England in Test cricket, beating Sir Ian Botham's previous high of 27.
The only seam bowler with 300 or more Test wickets on home soil is him. He is the second player overall and the first pace bowler to take 100 Test wickets at a single location (at Lord's; Muttiah Muralitharan has 100 wickets at three different Sri Lankan grounds). He is the pace bowler with the most international Test deliveries.
His 62nd Test "not out" at Lord's in 2017 broke Courtney Walsh's previous mark of 61 to become the player with the most "not out" batting performances in Test cricket.
Anderson set a new First Class record on July 5, 2021, when he took seven wickets for 19 runs (including five first-class overs) while playing for Lancashire against Kent in the LV County Championship. Additionally, he now had 1,000 First Class wickets.
Anderson became the first batsman to go 100 innings without being dismissed in Test cricket on December 18, 2021, while playing for England in the first innings of the second Ashes Test.
