Bhopal: The Congress Legislature Party is due to meet in Bhopal today. It is reported that the district president of the by-election areas and the charging of assembly elections have been summoned. The meeting has been asked to take feedback on the outcome of the by-election. In addition, the strategy for the meeting will also be decided.
The BJP has won 19 seats in the 28-seat assembly by-election in Madhya Pradesh, and the Congress has managed to win 9 seats. Meanwhile, State Congress Vice-President and organization In-charge Chandresh Shekhar recently said, "The meeting has been held from 6 pm to review the election results". Sources associated with the meeting said, "The meeting was already decided before the counting of votes." However, after the result comes, it will now consider the reasons for the defeat. After taking feedback from the candidates, their views will be taken from the district president and the charging officers. Based on this, the party will decide its further strategy.
It is also being said that a reception room has been set up in the Assembly to welcome the newly-elected MLAs, which is going to start functioning from today. The MLAs from this room will be able to prepare other necessary documents including identity cards by 20th November. According to the Assembly Secretariat, a reception room has been set up on the ground floor in the Assembly house.
