Guwahati: The fire of the Northeast movement against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) is now slowly engulfing the entire country, but at present there is relatively peace in the northeastern states. Tripura CM Biplab Deb says that peace has been achieved in this part of the country due to the understanding of the central government.
In an interaction with media, CM Biplab Deb said that the fears and problems that had come to the mind of the people of Northeast, especially Tripura, were resolved through dialogue. We told them that this law is for those who have settled in India before 2014. According to this law, no new refugee is going to get citizenship. This will not take anyone's citizenship away. It is only a citizenship law.
Biplab said that, apart from this, we removed the doubt in the minds of local citizens about this law. The Modi government helped us a lot in this. PM Modi used to talk twice daily and in the evening. He used to talk to all the Chief Ministers of the North East in this regard. PM Modi used to take feedback every day and tell how to convince people.
