According to information received, several EVMs were reported to have been burnt in a room at PG College, Khargone. As soon as the fire was reported, a number of top officials along with the collector of the district rushed to the spot.

The machines were then ejected and tried to control the fire of the room. Meanwhile, a Congress leader has questioned the fire. "EVMs have been deliberately set on fire," said Govind Mujalde, who was the Congress Lok Sabha candidate. The collector has withdrawn the EVMs and started investigating the case," he said.

The room in which EVMs of Khargone Assembly No. 185 was kept was on fire. Suddenly, smoke started rising from the room. As soon as the information was received, several officials including Lok Sabha Congress candidate Govind Mujalda, Khargone MLA Ravi Joshi, including collector rushed to the spot. In the meantime, the collector removed two EVMs and checked it, saying the upper covers of those machines were badly burned. According to reports, the number of EVMs damaged by the fire will be reported only after the investigation is over.
