Budget 2025 LIVE Stream: Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present the Union Budget for the next financial year on Saturday, February 1, 2025. The first part of the Budget session will start on January 31 and end on February 13, 2025. The second part will begin on March 10 and finish on April 4, 2025.

This will be the second budget speech by Finance Minister Sitharaman in the Modi 3.0 government and her eighth time presenting a budget in Parliament. She has already delivered six annual budgets and two interim budgets during the NDA government's time in power, making her the most experienced finance minister in recent history.

The Central government's budget for 2025 is expected to focus on these key areas:

  1. Digital Economy: Making more industries digital to increase efficiency and transparency.
  2. Healthcare and Education: Improving access to quality healthcare and education through new initiatives and reforms.
  3. Infrastructure Development: Investing in roads, bridges, and other projects to boost economic growth and create jobs.
  4. Sustainability Initiatives: Promoting green energy and reducing climate change to protect the environment.

How to Watch Budget 2025 Live

FM Nirmala Sitharaman’s Union Budget 2025 speech will be delivered in Parliament on February 1, 2025, starting at 11 am. It will be broadcast live on official channels like Doordarshan, Sansad Televison, and the Parliament’s official YouTube channels.

Digital versions of the budget documents will be delivered on the Union Government’s official website, www.indiabudget.gov.in. It will be provided in both Hindi and English and will include financial details, the finance bill, and grant requests as outlined in the Constitution.

The National Stock Exchange (NSE) and Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) will remain open on February 1, 2025, despite it being a Saturday, due to the Union Budget.

From changes in income tax slabs, GST adjustments, infrastructure funding, and more, businesses and taxpayers are expecting updates to help boost the economy and improve consumer sentiment.

Union Budget 2025: President Murmu to address Parliament on Jan 31

India's President, Droupadi Murmu, will begin the Budget Session on January 31 by addressing both Houses of Parliament at 11 am. This will be followed by the Union Budget presentation on February 1.

The Budget Session will be split into two phases. The first part will run from January 31 to February 13, and the second part will start on March 10 and wrap up on April 4.
After the President's address, there will be three days of discussion - February 3, 4, and 6 - where members will debate and thank the President for her speech.

Meanwhile, the government has called an all-party meeting on January 30 to get everyone on the same page before the Budget Session begins. Kiren Rijiju, the Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister, is hoping for a smooth and productive session.

Rijiju also expressed his hopes for a balanced budget, saying, "Everyone is looking forward to a good Budget. We are all hopeful that Nirmala Sitharaman will present something great."  He also appealed to opposition leaders to keep the discussions civil and productive, saying, "Let us work together to make this session a success."

 

A Look Back at Union Budget 2024

On July 23, 2024, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented Union Budget 2024. This budget marked the first full budget under the newly-formed Narendra Modi-led NDA government. Budget 2024 introduced measures aimed at helping the middle class, boosting capital expenditures, and improving infrastructure to support the “Viksit Bharat” (Developed India) vision announced in the interim budget of February 2024.
