Agartala: By-elections for a Rajya Sabha seat in Tripura is going to be held on September 22. For this BJP has announced the name of its candidate. The BJP has fielded former Tripura CM Biplab Kumar Deb. Actually, this seat was vacant due to the resignation of Dr Manik Saha. Dr Saha was made the Chief Minister of Tripura in place of Biplab Deb.
A letter has been issued in this regard by the Central Election Committee of BJP. In this, the name of Biplab Kumar Deb has been announced for the upcoming Rajya Sabha by-election to be held in Tripura. The counting of votes will be done after the elections are held on September 22. The new MP will be announced after the counting of votes is over. At the same time, Biplab Kumar Deb says that I am grateful to PM Modi, BJP Chief JP Nadda and Union Home Minister Amit Shah that I have been nominated as a BJP candidate for Rajya Sabha member from Tripura. He said that I am committed to work for the development and welfare of Tripura and its people.
In fact, on May 15 this year, Manik Saha was appointed as the CM of Tripura in place of Biplab Deb. Earlier, Manik Saha was elected Rajya Sabha MP from only one Rajya Sabha seat in Tripura in April 2022. His term was to end in April 2028. But before that, there was political upheaval.
