Dehradun: The marriage of a BJP leader's daughter from Pauri in Uttarakhand has heated up the market of discussions on social media. The leader's daughter is going to be married to a person of Muslim religion, for which cards were also printed on behalf of the leader's family and preparations have been started for the marriage ceremony. Now people are making various comments on the wedding card which is continuously going viral on social media, while many people are commenting linking it to 'Love Jihad' and 'The Kerala Story'. 

In fact, BJP leader Yashpal Benam's daughter is going to be married to Mohammad Monis, a resident of Amethi, on May 28. Yashpal Benam is the Municipality President and former MLA of Pauri, Uttarakhand. Many Hindu organizations protested against this marriage and burnt the effigy of Yashpal. Yashpal is being trolled on social media. At the same time, sharp reaction is being seen at the local level as well. People associated with Vishwa Hindu Parishad, Bhairav ​​Sena and Bajrang Dal gathered here at Hindu Panchayati Dharamshala and then reached Jhanda Chowk in a procession. Raising slogans against the marriage here, they set Yashpal's effigy on fire. 

Vishwa Hindu Parishad's Pauri working district president Deepak Gaur said they strongly oppose such marriages as it sends a wrong message to the coming generation. He said, "Yashpal Benam's daughter should either convert to Islam or his future son-in-law should convert to Hinduism." Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh's (RSS) Dharma Prachar Prant Pramukh Awadhesh Kumar also termed it wrong to give social recognition to such marriages by printing cards and organizing weddings. He said that Hindu religion is being hurt by this type of marriage and they should not perform this publicly. 

Meanwhile, an alleged audio of former MLA Yashpal Benam's conversation with a person is being circulated in which he is saying that this marriage is happening with the mutual approval of both the families and according to Hindu customs. He also said that neither his daughter has converted nor his future son-in-law has been converted for marriage. Yashpal said that such a marriage is not happening for the first time and marriages have taken place between the people of Hindu and Muslim religions earlier also. He said that she is getting married for the happiness of her children. People close to Benami said on the condition of anonymity that his daughter studies in Lucknow University and she is in love with the person she is going to marry.
