Bhopal: The Shivraj government of MP has taken a major decision under which the public will now get groceries at discounts from ration shops. State Cooperative Minister Arvind Bhadauria said grocery items at state shops will start receiving discounts soon. Congress has raised questions about the government's decision.
Minister Arvind Bhadauria said that ration distribution is done in villages with the help of ration shops and 4,500 cooperative societies. Now rations, as well as groceries from these shops, will be available at discounts. This will prevent people from going to the city to collect groceries and will also save people's travel expenses and time. At present, 4.5 crore people in the state get ration. All these people will be benefited from getting groceries.
At present, detailed discussions are going on regarding the exemption. Minister Bhadauria said that it is the effort of the government that shops should not go into losses and people should also get things properly. The public's confidence in the government will increase due to the availability of grocery items at discounts at ration shops. Congress has raised questions on this scheme of the government and has made allegations that we do not believe that the poor will benefit from it. Congress MLA Kunal Choudhary said that we do not believe that the discount that is being said about giving groceries at the ration shop will benefit the poor, rather it will increase corruption.
