Bhopal: After the uncontested election of the Speaker, there are clear indications from the BJP about the election of the Deputy Speaker. The BJP has said that after the president, now the vice president will also be of the same party. The BJP has also given an argument behind this, which is, 'Congress has started this tradition and now the BJP will only follow this tradition'. Senior BJP MLA Girish Gautam has been elected unopposed as the Speaker of Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly. It is now the turn to elect the Deputy Speaker. Assuming the old traditions, the BJP is saying that the vice president will also be of BJP.

It has now been cleared to a great extent that the post of vice president will also go to the BJP's account. In this sequence, the statement of Home Minister Narottam Mishra has come out. He has said in his statement, 'Congress started during the Kamal Nath government to hold the post of vice president in the assembly too with the ruling party. We will follow that tradition.' Vishwas Sarang said that when the Kamal Nath government was there, the post of vice president was not given to the opposition. During the Kamal Nath government, Congress retained both the posts of president and vice-president. We will do the same now. BJP will have a vice president.'

He also said, 'Newly appointed Assembly Speaker Girish Gautam said about the challenges of the assembly, there have been problems with Corona. This will be discussed at the assembly level. Efforts being made at the government level to be further improved will be the challenge'. Further, he said, 'I will try to fulfil the obligation given to me. If the party believes in me then I too will try to live up to it. I will protect the rights and interests of honourable members.'
