iPhone maker Apple has announced that it plans to open 4 new retail stores in India. As of now, Apple has only two offline stores in India, one located in Delhi and the other in Mumbai. Apple opened both these stores last year.
Apple plans new stores in India
Apple has started selling the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max made under Made-in-India in its existing stores. After the launch of the new iPhone 16 series, there was a huge crowd of customers in these stores. Many people visited Apple stores and bought new iPhones, which made the company realize that more stores are needed in India.
Apple's Senior Vice President of Retail, Deirdre O'Brien, said, "We are planning to open more new retail stores in India." The new stores will be opened in Delhi-NCR, Mumbai, Pune and Bangalore, which will provide more convenience to the customers.
iPhone 16 series production in India
Apple has recently launched its iPhone 16 series, which includes four models like iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max. The special thing is that Apple has also started production of these new iPhones in India. These new models will soon be available for sale in Apple stores.
Earlier Apple used to produce its older models in Indian factories, but now the company has started production of its latest iPhone 16 series in India as well. This move further promotes the 'Made-in-India' initiative.
Partnership for the production of iPhone 16
Apple has partnered with Foxconn, Pegatron and Tata Electronics to manufacture iPhones in India. The iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max models are being manufactured by Foxconn. At the same time, Pegatron has been entrusted with the production of iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro. Apart from this, Tata Electronics has been given the responsibility of producing iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus.
It is worth noting that these iPhone models made in India will not only be exported within India but also abroad, which will increase the demand for 'Made-in-India' iPhones globally as well.
This move by Apple will not only strengthen its business in India but will also provide new employment opportunities in the country. New stores and Indian production will make iPhone more accessible, which will also benefit Indian customers.
