Rupali Ganguly, the lead actress of the most popular show on the small screen, 'Anupama', remains in the news for her personal life along with her work. Reports say that in some time she filed a defamation suit of Rs 50 crore against her stepdaughter. Now, the actress's lawyer, Sana Sais Khan, has reacted on this whole issue. Sana has clarified that Rupali Ganguly's stepdaughter has not yet responded to the defamation notice.
Rupali Ganguly's lawyer reacts: Speaking to the media, Sana Rais Khan said that even though Rupali Ganguly's stepdaughter Isha Verma removed the controversial social media post that led to this legal battle, she has not accepted the legal notice. Sana has said in this regard, 'She (Verma) has not responded. However, after receiving our notice, she has removed all the defamatory posts and has also deleted one account, which is an acceptance of her wrongdoing.'
Why did Rupali take this step? According to reports, Sana Rais Khan further revealed that Rupali Ganguly had earlier kept mum on this issue, but when her 11-year-old son Rudransh was dragged into it, she could not stop herself. Sana clarified that this is why Rupali has decided to send a defamation notice to Isha Verma.
Stepdaughter's allegations called baseless. Sana continued her argument by saying, 'Rupali decided to take this drastic step when her stepdaughter maliciously called her 11-year-old child illegitimate and the matter escalated with continuous defamatory and insulting posts, which led to character assassination of Rupali.' Khan has called Verma's allegations 'baseless' and stressed the need to send him a notice. Khan also revealed that Ganguly is deeply hurt by these allegations, which have caused him immense emotional distress and mental agony.
Isha Verma's allegations against stepmother: According to media reports, earlier this month, Isha Verma, daughter of Ashwin Verma's first wife Sapna, accused Ganguly of breaking her family. She called the actress a toxic woman. These allegations have come after Verma's 2020 post resurfaced, in which she claimed that Ganguly also tried to separate her from her father. In the post, she alleged that Ganguly had an extramarital affair with her father for 12 years.
