Vijayawada: Under the Jagananna Smart Township scheme, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has asked for the development of a model layout for the middle-income group (MIG) in each Assembly segment. The Chief Minister emphasised the need of developing layouts for the middle-income group in accordance with norms and standards, as well as ensuring that land titles were clear and that no legal issues existed.

He was speaking at his camp office here on Monday during a tour of the municipal administration and urban development department with minister Adimulapu Suresh and top officials. Officials informed the Chief Minister that 6,791 acres of land in 82 urban Assembly segments had been selected for the construction of MIG layouts. On 864.29 acres, work was underway in Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Guntur, Kadapa, Kurnool, Sri Satya Sai, and Tirupati districts. By the end of May, the layouts would be complete. The CM inquired about the status of construction in the Amaravati capital region. Officials informed him that the Karakatta road was being widened at a rapid pace, with power poles on both sides being removed.

They claimed that access roads were being built and that official quarters for MLAs, MLCs, and IAS offices were being built. The Chief Minister inquired about the Visakha Metro Rail Project and its finance. He requested a full report on the design of coaches and station facilities, as the project was expected to span over 75 kilometres.

The CM saw the need to establish as many Jagananna Mahila Marts as possible to help women achieve financial independence. He urged officials to provide the SHG women with all necessary government assistance.
