Andhra Pradesh: Guntur The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) asked on Thursday that the Andhra Pradesh government rename a renowned landmark in Guntur named after Pakistan's founding father, Mohammad Ali Jinnah.

Somu Veerraju, the BJP's Andhra Pradesh head, asked on Thursday that the name of Guntur's Jinnah Tower, which is named after Pakistan's founder Muhammad Ali Jinnah, be changed. He said since Jinnah was the cause of India’s division, the state govt should change the name of the Tower.

He said, "How can we continue to use the name of a man who was in charge of the country's division for the tower or the area?" Anti-nationals' names should be erased from anywhere, according to the BJP leader.

Meanwhile, Raja Singh, a BJP MLA from Telangana, has asked that the Andhra Pradesh government alter the name of Jinnah Tower immediately. He questioned, "How can you continue to use the name of a guy who is responsible for the split of the country and the deaths of countless people?" The MLA, who represents Hyderabad's Goshamahal seat, urged that the skyscraper be named after Abul Kalam or Gurram Jashua, two liberation fighters.

Jinnah Tower is a prominent landmark in Guntur, located on Mahatma Gandhi Road, the city's major thoroughfare. Despite India and Pakistan's wars and conflicts, the tower served as a symbol of peace and cooperation.
