VIJAYAWADA: The Andhra Pradesh government has given education top priority, implemented various reforms in the field, and spent Rs 53,000 crore on it during the past three years, the state Chief minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy said.

He claimed that the state government has invested more than Rs 53,000 crore in a number of programmes meant to advance education standards in the state, boost literacy rates, reduce dropout rates, and reach a 70% Gross Enrollment Ratio (GER) in higher education.

The chief minister reaffirmed his government's changes in the education sector to give pupils with high-quality education while speaking at the Teachers' Day event held here on Monday.

In this competitive, dynamic environment, he also said that instructors have a significant role to play in influencing pupils' futures.

The Chief minister said, his government has given the education sector top priority, and the numerous reforms that have been implemented are designed to thoroughly prepare the children for the competitive world they will soon enter. He compared educators to sculptors who shape the future of their students.

He wished the teachers a good day and paid tribute to Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan before saying that his government's policies were not intended to trouble the teachers but rather to create a better society for children.

In contrast to the previous government, which overlooked the government schools in favour of corporate schools, he remarked, "Our commitment is to give emphasis to the public sector."  He claimed that the government had spent a significant amount of money on a number of programmes, including Vidya Kanuka, the CBSE, subject teachers, Byju's Pack, tabs for eighth-grade students, digital classrooms, improving teacher skills, Vidya Deevena, Vasati Deevena, and others. He also mentioned Nadu Nedu and Jagananna Goru Muddha as English-medium programmes.

He asserted that the government's goal is to give high-quality education to the socially and economically disadvantaged groups, and that reforms are intended to improve the lives of the underprivileged classes. "Our changes are designed to restore government schools to their former grandeur and shape them better than corporate schools so that they will attract more students," he said.
Further, the government promoted instructors and raised the retirement age for educators to 62. Our government, he continued, was also addressing the pension issue, which had not been handled in a long time.

He would be grateful to his father for giving birth to him and would be grateful to his teacher for making his birth meaningful, the chief minister added, quoting Alexander.

The opposition, which has never bothered to address such problems, is now criticising the administration and inciting the teachers, according to the chief minister.

All public sector organisations in the healthcare, transportation, and education sectors have been damaged by the opposition, and this has created a scenario where even government personnel must leave. But he added that we have stopped the trend and are moving forward with the reforms.
