Tripura: Union Home Minister Amit Shah will launch the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) Jana Biswas Rath Yatra in the state with an eye toward the upcoming Assembly Election in Tripura.
Tripura Bharatiya Janata party (BJP) will begin Jana Biswas Rath Yatra programme to strengthen the party support base in the state.
"Keeping the focus on the approaching Assembly elections in the state, BJP to start Jana Biswas Rath Yatra on January 5 at Dharmanagar in North Tripura district of Tripura," said Rajib Bhattacharya, head of the Tripura BJP. He said that Booth Shashaktikaran Abhiyan and Booth Vijay Abhiyan had already begun in Tripura.
"Home Minister Amit Shah will launch the Jana Biswas Rath Yatra from Dharmanagar town. In the South Tripura town of Sabroom Subdivision, the other Rath Yatra will be launched in the opposite direction" the BJP leader said.
The Yatra will pass through 60 state constituencies. Party workers will be contacted during the programme.
The primary goal of the Yatra, he said, is to highlight the development initiatives the BJP administration has undertaken since 2018.
JP Nadda, the national president of the BJP, will join the Jana Biswas Rath Yatra on January 12 and speak to party members. Tripura will have elections for its legislature in 2023.
