Lucknow: Former Uttar Pradesh CM and BJP stalwart Kalyan Singh passed away recently. The Vice-Chancellor of Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) in Uttar Pradesh had condoled his demise, but now a ruckus has arisen over it. Only a few university students have opposed their vice chancellor for expressing grief.
In fact, on August 22, Tariq Mansoor, vice-chancellor of Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), expressed grief. The condolence letter was followed by a poster on the university campus condemning the condolences. The poster says it is shameful for the vice-Chancellor to mourn Kalyan Singh's death as Kalyan Singh was one of the main characters in the Babri Masjid demolition incident and violated the apex court order. The poster that has been put up does not have the name of an organization or student written on it. However, some student organizations have supported this letter.
Kalyan Singh, a former CM of Uttar Pradesh and governor of Rajasthan, passed away on August 21 at the age of 89. Kalyan Singh has been counted among the veteran leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), who played a key role during the Ramjanmabhoomi movement.
